Our facilities
Trout Park takes great pride in its facilities. Our grounds crew and umpires work tirelessly to ensure the playing surface and surrounding amenities are in the best possible condition for all games.
Regular upgrades and conscientious maintenance of the field make Trout Park one of the best fields in the state year after year. These efforts make Trout Park provide a great experience for both the player and the fan.
A full concession stand is on site and provides funding to help off-set field costs. We ask that no outside food or spectator coolers be brought into the park.
There is generally no admission to the baseball facility but contributions to support the program are appreciated. If you wish to become a contributor through one of our varied programs please leave your name and phone number at the concession stand.
Batting cages and warm up areas are located beyond the left field fence. Teams can also warm up in an open grass area behind right field. No throwing is allowed in the area of the concession stand or bleachers.
No soft toss of hard balls against the fences. There is NO SWINGING on the grass. Swinging is allowed only on the white screening areas located throughout the park. This allows us to maintain the integrity of our grass based on the amount of games played at Trout Park. Warm up throwing at least 15 feet either side of the foul lines. This is a high-maintenance area for the grass. It is suggested that teams remain approximately 15 feet to the foul side of the line when loosening up.
Permanent bathroom facilities are available at the park, behind the concession stand. The bathroom facilities are maintained our grounds crew and we ask that the baseball community help to keep the restrooms clean. Please report any problems or needs to the concession stand.
Pre-game infield practice is at the discretion of the Trout Park officials or the umpire in chief. Please ask permission to take infield before doing so. There is generally no infield allowed during tournaments due to time constraints.
First aid kits are available at the concession stand. If a more serious injury occurs please contact 911 and the Elgin Paramedics will respond. Immediately notify the umpire or field official who can assist in directing emergency equipment to the injured person.
